They arrived from San Francisco on Thursday, early evening....I made chili and was petrified my brother (the CHEF) would be grading it harshly! (:-) All in all, I think he gave it a passing mark. We did not die, or get diarrhea!! Yeah....Jane even ate two bowls. "JANE SAYS" Rich ate two bowls as well (In my terror, I didn't notice).
Here we are, the big sis and her "Little brother." He doesn't know this, but I felt he was sorta my "charge" in some ways growing up, or at least like Lucy watching over (and bossing) Linus, I tried to make a good difference in his life. He will have plenty to say about that. I was so happy to see him. We browsed through old family stuff together, something we have needed to do for ages. We laughed. We ate. We slept!!! Oh, and played games with Hannah and Jane. I did not know Rich was a person who gave such attention to minute detail ... I guess he inherited that trait too, but it was recessive in his younger years. He can have ALL mine, it's been a bain as I've grown up!
These two found each other in 2003 and have been having fun since. They truly ARE living the big adventure in Alaska together...probably at over 50, having it better than in those younger years of theirs. I hope so.
Rich has been a fantastic father to Hannah over the years. I am really proud of him. He loves her and she is still crazy about him. They enjoy being together, and Jane is great too.
Well guys (and gals), happy traveling as you move on today, to other people and places. I will really miss you all.
